inSIGHT
In the inSIGHT project, we explore how contemporary psychoanalytic thinkers engage with and reinterpret the foundational ideas of the theorists who have profoundly influenced them. We listen to modern analysts about integrating, expanding, or challenging seminal ideas. Through close readings of various texts, we will investigate how these intellectual dialogues shape contemporary psychoanalytic thought, offering a deeper understanding of its relevance today.
inSIGHT courses consist of two two-hour seminars. They are designed for clinicians, scholars, and anyone interested in the ongoing development of psychoanalytic theory.
In the 2025 edition of inSIGHT, Howard Levine will discuss his take on the Freudian idea of construction in psychoanalysis, and João Sousa Monteiro will discuss his understanding of the emotional complexities of the apprehension of beauty, the aesthetic conflict proposed by Donald Meltzer.
